Welcome!
The Romanian Orthodox Parish in Edinburgh, established in 2014, is part of the Romanian Orthodox Archdiocese of Great Britain and Northern Ireland (Romanian Patriarchate). Our community was born from the desire of Romanians in the Scottish capital to have a place to pray, meet, and preserve their language, faith, and traditions.
Legally, the Edinburgh Parish has been organized since October 2018 as a Foundation (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation), registered with the Scottish Charity Regulator under the names “The Romanian Orthodox Church in Edinburgh” and “The Romanian Community Centre in Edinburgh” (SC048786).
Today, the parish brings together families, young people, and students from the Scottish capital and surrounding areas (Kirkcaldy, Livingston, St Andrews, Stirling, Scottish Borders, etc.), as well as friends of other nationalities who enjoy the liturgical life and the cultural and social activities of the community together.
The Divine Liturgy is served bilingually, in Romanian and English, every Sunday at our churches in Edinburgh and Kirkcaldy, according to the following schedule:
