Donations

The Romanian Church in Edinburgh has no other source of income apart from donations received from believers. All servants of our Parish are volunteers, including priests, meaning they are not employees of the Parish nor do they have salaries from the Church. In the Edinburgh Parish there are no "fees" for services (baptisms, weddings etc.), in any form. Our believers support all Church expenses through voluntary donations.

Legally, our Church operates as a foundation / charity (Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation) recognized by the Scottish state under the name "The Romanian Orthodox Church in Edinburgh / The Romanian Community Centre in Edinburgh" (SC048786). Expenditure and income reports are public, according to Scottish laws for foundations, and can be consulted on the OSCR website.
